On a wet afternoon in Austria in 2001, I had the idea for my book, Central Europe.
Bringing together photographs taken between 1999 and 2006, the book records the landscapes, villages and cities of central Europe,
at a time when the eastern and western halves of the continent were drawing back together following the end of communism.
